What will you do with the 1000 kd granted from Sheikh Sabah?
Some of you may use it to purchase the latest luxurious craze, may it be the latest Chanel bag or those beautiful red-sole Christian Louboutin heels you have been saving up for or just use it as an escape to one of those top 10 listed destinations of the world you just have to visit.
Prophet Muhammed p.b.u.h once said “When you see a person, who has been given more than you in money and beauty; then look to those who have been given less.”
Now it is ultimately your decision to use that money for whatever you may wish, but the intention here is to urge you to just think twice before doing so.
Not everyone is privileged with the luxurious lifestyle that comes with being Kuwaiti. There are unfortunate people out there that do not have food to eat, a roof over their heads, or better yet the medication they need in order to live.
Find a charity that touches your heart the most and help those that are in need. You have the power and opportunity to make a change for a sick child out there, or to help a struggling family make a living.
We are celebrating Kuwait and “its 50th anniversary of independence, 20th anniversary of liberation from Iraqi occupation and the fifth anniversary of the Amir's ascendance to power”. As great of an accomplishment as that all sounds, we should be proud of being Kuwaiti and show it. With all that said, I urge you to think again of how you’d like to use your 1000kd, to benefit those lives that are unfortunate.
